How the filter works
Before you start, you tell us your gender (male, female or other) and who you want to talk to (anyone, female, male or other). We only match two people when both choices fit. If you want to talk to women and you’re a man, you’ll be matched with a woman who chose to talk to men or to anyone.
It’s fair both ways
Because both people’s preferences have to match, nobody is pushed into a chat they didn’t ask for. That makes conversations more relaxed for everyone.
When a match takes longer
A narrower filter can mean a longer wait, especially at quiet times. After about 15 seconds the app offers to widen your search to anyone, so you’re never stuck waiting.
Please be honest
The filter only works if people choose their real gender. Misleading others ruins it for everyone, and users can report people who aren’t honest.
