On ChatStranger you never create an account. There is no email, phone number, username or profile photo. You open the chat and start talking.
What “anonymous” means here
When you open the chat, your browser gets a random ID so the app can connect you to a match. It isn’t linked to your name, email or phone. The stranger you talk to only ever sees the messages you send.
What is still recorded
Being anonymous doesn’t mean nothing is kept. Messages are stored so we can investigate reports and keep the service safe, and our hosting providers process technical data like IP addresses to protect against abuse. Read the privacy policy for details.
Keep your anonymity
The easiest way to give away your identity is to type it. Stay anonymous by not sharing your full name, school or workplace, location, photos or social media accounts.

Can the other person find out who I am?
Not from the app. They only see your messages. Avoid sharing details that could identify you.
Are my chats private?
Each chat is only visible to the two people in it. Messages are stored securely and are only reviewed when needed to handle reports or abuse.
